Microsoft Dynamics GP Training

We approach Microsoft Dynamics GP training (Great Plains) in a way consistent with our general training approach: fast knowledge transfer to you the user or manager, and accelerated results, so you can quickly start using GP in an optimal fashion.

Our experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains training dates from the start of our relationship with Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems, like GP (Great Plains) and AX (Axapta) and their predecessors - in 1992.

Our training approach includes

Role-based processes for financial controllers and finance managers:

  • How to use GP to review, monitor and report financial performance
  • How to administer your GP financial ERP system to ensure that accounting functions are performed effectively—like payment of payables, collection of receivables and optimised purchasing processes

Task-focused processes for accounting and order-entry staff:

  • Efficient order-entry processes - so operators can see the interactions with accounts receivable and inventory
  • Effective performance of key accounting processes like:
  • Entry of payables and purchase order receivings
  • Maintenance of Fixed Assets
  • Optimal monthly and weekly processes for payment of accounts payable (cheque and EFT payment runs), bank reconciliations, accounts receivable collection activities, and month-end accounts receivable processes (aging, statements)

Reporting and Enquiries:

  • Use of SmartLists for enquiries
  • Using the right GP report. Users may not be aware of the appropriate reports for bank reconciliations, aged trial balances, and stock valuations. The Microsoft GP Sample Reports guide is a great source of ideas for designing your own reports. The guide is available in our downloads area.
  • GP financial (General Ledger) reports (FRx and Management Reporter) can drill-down from a summary or account-level view- to a detailed, transaction - or subsidiary-account view. Drill-downs are especially useful for investigating variances and for presenting and explaining financial results.
